Poland has vetoed the EU decision on VAT holidays for construction works and some other services, arguing it wants to ensure equal treatment of its citizens to those of other EU member states.
All other 24 member states have previously agreed to extend a reduced VAT scheme on so called "labour intensive" services, such as house renovations or bike repairs, but the decision on tax issues must be hammered out unanimously.
