New tariffs to hit Chinese electric cars, after wafer-thin EU vote

Hefty EU tariffs of up to 45 percent will be slapped on Chinese electric vehicles for five years from November, after member state governments failed to meet the threshold needed to overturn an EU Commission proposal.
